So. Uh.

As you've porbably (not) noticed I haven't been on LJ in months...

This is because I had a bridge dropped on me, so to speak, in that I found out not long after school ended that we're all moving to Australia.
Somehow this entails rushing around collecting things/cleaning out trash/etc, and also a huge amount of reschedulling around university entrance (although I seem to have screwed up anyway)

I probably won't be able to sit down and do much on the computer until we arrive. At present I can still find time to log on and read news updates etc. in short bursts, but that's about it...this is why my proofreading has been sitting inert in My Documents for so long (asabiesa , please don't kill me OTL) .

Obviously I'd have things better sorted out if this hadn't taken me by surprise. We'll just have to see how it goes. :/

In other news:

• Got accepted into Griffth University (but not the University of Queensland) and Auckland University. Woot. Given my crap marks this year, though, I'm starting to doubt my ability to cope with the course.
• Tsubaki Kawori's blog has another amusing picture of Toneriko in a dress. i really hope that's one of the omakes.
• I thought Final Fantasy XIII had an English release of March 9, but now some people are saying it's next month? Whatever, I just want the preorder bundle *shot*
• Been trying to write things even with the little time I have, but it's proving impossible. ; _ ;
• I have no idea wtf I'm going to do with all my books...
• Thanks to playing Oblivion in short bursts when I feel like it (and have time...wtf does clearing a SMALL cave take 20 minutes?), I have the sudden need to see someone make a Gensokyo mod. *shot*

...which means I have more stuff to gawk at with no hope of buying. OTL

In other news:

-EXAMS ARE DONE YAAAAAAAAAAAY. This hopefully means I have more time to proofread/levelgrind/write things.
-It's the holidays so I should really look for a job...
-FFXIII's last trailer is out. This game's Cid is...different, to say the least...
-Also FFXIII comes out in English on March 9, which means I have to save like crazy. Maybe if I get Dad to put in a preorder on my birthday instead of buying something...(but it is my 18th, so that probably won't happen)
-I can clear Concealed the Conclusion on Normal, as with PCB and Imperishable Night, but I still get to within 5 minutes of finishing Undefined Fantastic Object before I die. Figures.

I never really pick up Korean manhwa because the art doesn't usually appeal to me, but this one caught my eye.

I get the feeling it's like a shoujo manga but with copious subtext between the leading girls, and really unsubtle (to me, anyway) copious gay between the main male characters.

...there was a report on the news about some cricket game somewhere, and maybe my hearing really is that bad but I could have sworn the reporter mentioned one of the players as "Alan Rickman".

Needless to say this created hilarious mental images of Snape playing cricket.

You would think that a university with 14000+ students attending it would have more sense than to put a row of display tables in a narrow corridor that people have to walk through to access the rest of their open day presentations.

You would think that, but they don't.

(I'm also somewhat annoyed that the physics department's display consisted of a table with a van der Graff generator and a really basic refraction display, and nothing else. If that's not bad enough, Chemistry only gets half a table.)

And instead of getting organised, I went ahead and proved that TV Tropes is far too addictive for its own good, as well as being awesome because it's the sort of site where you can (rightly) label Schneizel a Magnificent Bastard and Lelouch a Rich Idiot With No Day Job (along with other examples) without being lynched by fandom.

Then there's the Touhou page.

Don't you just love it when you find graphics tutorials that are easy to adapt for not-Photoshop and take about 20 minutes to do? XD


But then I realised that I don't have a paid account/a proper website and the banner is the wrong size for Bebo, so this is going on my LJ for anyone else to take and use.

I'm so incredibly sorry for not having done the stuff that's been requested of me (that's drabbles + proofing + those summaries of Number I still haven't gone back to). I haven't had the time or the inspiration to do them, but I honestly haven't forgotten (which makes me feel even guiltier) So if you want to beat me with a stick for this go ahead, since it's my own fault for letting things pile up.

THINGS THAT HAVE GONE WRONG THIS WEEKEND:

• I caught the flu. Why this always happens when I go to Bekah's house I have no idea, but it's damn annoying.
• My computer was spontaneously infected with a virus. It didn't do anything and my AVG removed it right away, but how did it get into a file I downloaded 3 months ago?
• I can't write anything (even my school report thing) AGH
• In general, the only thing I had good luck with today was poker. (Even the rugby league team I'm backing is losing.)

...so really the entire reason for my not being in a writing mood boils down to a) I have cramp again and b) this video crushing my morale:

I do have genuine reasons why this is so late, but they all sound too much like excuses. To sum up, my computer broke down for about a month and took my motivation for summarising fight scenes with it.

After that, I guess I was just too tired to remember...XD

So, here we go~ This chapter gives us some backstory for Sakura and a nice dose of OMINOUS FORESHADOWING. orz
